- 6 apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 package fillo dough
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and melted butter.
- Layer the fillo dough in a greased pan, brushing each layer with melted butter.
- Add the apple filling and top with more layers of fillo dough.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, you can include raisins.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
