Ingredients

  • 4 oz (120g) cream cheese (for icing)
  • 2 tbsp butter (for icing)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for icing)
  • 12 tbsp milk (to adjust icing consistency)


Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Make the dough: Add mashed bananas, egg, melted butter, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms. Knead for 8–10 minutes.
  3. First rise: Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  4. Shape the rolls: Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread with softened butter, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll up tightly and slice into 12 rolls.
  5. Second rise: Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30–40 minutes.
  6. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown.
  7. Make the icing: Beat cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
  8. Serve: Spread icing over warm rolls and enjoy!
