Description
A deliciously moist banana upside down cake that makes use of overripe bananas for a delightful dessert.

- 2 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter and brown sugar together, and spread it in the bottom of a greased cake pan.
- Arrange the banana slices on top of the butter and sugar mixture in the pan.
- In a large bowl, beat together the granulated sugar and egg until light and fluffy.
- Add in the milk and vanilla, mixing well.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter over the banana layer in the pan.
- Bake for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool for a few minutes before inverting onto a plate.

- Serve warm for the best texture.
- Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
