Description
Bang Bang Chicken Skewers are a delicious and easy-to-make dish using an air fryer, featuring tender chicken pieces coated in a flavorful sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cut into 1-inch chunks
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- Skewers (wooden or metal – soak wooden ones in water for 30 minutes)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 tbsp honey or sugar (optional for extra sweetness)
- 1 tsp lime juice (optional, for a tangy kick)
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Season the chicken: In a bowl, toss chicken chunks with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
- Skewer the chicken: Thread the seasoned chicken pieces onto skewers.
- Air fry: Place the skewers in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until chicken is golden and cooked through (internal temp should be 165°F).
- Make the Bang Bang Sauce: While chicken is cooking, mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl until smooth.
- Sauce and serve: Brush sauce over the hot skewers or serve it on the side for dipping. Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- Adjust the spiciness of the sauce by varying the amount of sriracha.
- For a healthier option, use Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise in the sauce.
- Ensure chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F for safety.
