Description

This butter-basted filet mignon with rosemary is a perfect combination of rich flavors and tender meat, ideal for a special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 filet mignon steaks
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Remove the filet mignon from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature, about 30 minutes.
  2. Season both sides of the filet with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat a skillet over high heat. Once hot, add the filet mignon and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium, add the butter, rosemary, and garlic to the pan.
  5. Baste the filets with the melted butter and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until desired doneness is reached.
  6. Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a more intense flavor, let the steaks marinate in oil and garlic for a few hours before cooking.
  • Pair with a side of roasted vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
