Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 green onion, chopped (for garnish)
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice
  • Fresh cilantro or sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Add chicken thighs and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and cook for 4–5 minutes per side until caramelized and fully cooked. Remove and let rest.
  3. In a saucepan, bring chicken broth to a simmer. Add sliced garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Simmer for 10 minutes to infuse flavors.
  4. Slice the caramelized chicken and serve over cooked jasmine rice.
  5. Ladle hot garlic ginger broth around the rice and chicken. Garnish with green onions, cilantro, or sesame seeds if desired.
