Description

A delicious and creamy beef skillet dish topped with provolone cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.25 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup softened cream cheese
  • 2 (14.5-ounce) cans green beans, drained
  • to taste Italian seasoning
  • to taste garlic powder
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 1/4 cup shredded Mexican blend cheese
  • 6 to 8 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain off 90% of the grease.
  2. Add Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the beef, stirring to combine.
  3. Stir in the sour cream and softened cream cheese until well blended with the beef.
  4. Add the shredded Mexican blend cheese, chicken broth, and drained green beans. Stir to combine.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer until the broth is mostly cooked down, about 10 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven broiler.
  7. Arrange the provolone cheese slices evenly over the top of the beef mixture.
  8. Place the skillet under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the provolone cheese is melted and slightly browned.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, try mixing in a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce with the beef before simmering.
  • Swap out the green beans for broccoli florets or zucchini slices for a different vegetable option.
