Description

This rich and moist chocolate cake is perfect for any celebration.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla; mix for 2 minutes on medium speed of mixer.
  5. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin).
  6. Pour batter into prepared pans.
  7. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pans to cool completely.

Notes

  • Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature before starting.
  • For an extra chocolate kick, add chocolate chips to the batter.
