Description
A delicious and simple recipe for Chili-Maple Caviar & Avocado on Toast, perfect for a quick snack or appetizer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ripe avocado
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
- 1/4 cup caviar or fish roe
- 4 slices of multigrain bread
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- Chopped cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Begin by halving the avocado, removing the pit, and scooping the flesh into a bowl. Add lime juice, sea salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper, then mash until you achieve a creamy yet slightly textured consistency.
- In another bowl, combine the maple syrup and caviar, stirring gently to blend the flavors without breaking the caviar.
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat and drizzle in the olive oil. Place the slices of multigrain bread in the skillet, toasting them until they are golden and crisp, approximately 2-3 minutes per side.
- Once the bread is toasted, generously spread the avocado mixture over each slice.
- Spoon the spicy maple caviar mixture on top of the avocado spread, allowing it to cascade over the edges.
- If desired, sprinkle with chopped cilantro for a fresh touch and serve right away.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, increase the amount of cayenne pepper.
- Use fresh caviar or fish roe for the best flavor.
- This recipe can be easily doubled for larger gatherings.
