Description

A delicious and simple recipe for Chili-Maple Caviar & Avocado on Toast, perfect for a quick snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup caviar or fish roe
  • 4 slices of multigrain bread
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • Chopped cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by halving the avocado, removing the pit, and scooping the flesh into a bowl. Add lime juice, sea salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper, then mash until you achieve a creamy yet slightly textured consistency.
  2. In another bowl, combine the maple syrup and caviar, stirring gently to blend the flavors without breaking the caviar.
  3. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and drizzle in the olive oil. Place the slices of multigrain bread in the skillet, toasting them until they are golden and crisp, approximately 2-3 minutes per side.
  4. Once the bread is toasted, generously spread the avocado mixture over each slice.
  5. Spoon the spicy maple caviar mixture on top of the avocado spread, allowing it to cascade over the edges.
  6. If desired, sprinkle with chopped cilantro for a fresh touch and serve right away.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, increase the amount of cayenne pepper.
  • Use fresh caviar or fish roe for the best flavor.
  • This recipe can be easily doubled for larger gatherings.
