Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix the mashed bananas with the melted butter until smooth.
- Incorporate the vanilla extract, baking soda, and a pinch of salt into the banana mixture, stirring until well combined.
- Add the sugar and the beaten egg, mixing until fully integrated.
- Slowly fold in the flour and cocoa powder, being careful not to overwork the batter.
- If using, gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan, ensuring the top is even.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the loaf cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before moving it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For added texture, consider mixing in 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans.
- To enhance the nutritional value, you can replace half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour.
