Description

A festive and delicious red velvet cheesecake that is perfect for holiday celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons red food coloring
  • 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • ½ cup granulated sugar


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a springform pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the oil, egg, vanilla extract, buttermilk, and red food coloring.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mix until smooth, then pour into the prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool completely.
  6. For the cheesecake layer, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth, then add vanilla extract.
  7. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream with granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  8. Fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.
  9. Once the red velvet layer is cool, spread the cheesecake mixture on top and chill in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.
  10. Serve chilled and enjoy!

  • This cheesecake can be made a day in advance for easier preparation.
  • Red food coloring can be adjusted for desired color intensity.
