Ingredients

- 1 block firm tofu
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
- In one bowl, combine cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- In another bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
- Dredge each tofu piece in the cornstarch mixture, then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat and add the tofu nuggets.
- Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Transfer to a baking sheet and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the tofu before cooking.
- Can be served with dipping sauces like sweet chili or soy sauce.
