Description

Indulge in these delicious Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Nut Bars, a perfect blend of nuts and chocolate with a hint of sea salt.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups assorted nuts (such as cashews, hazelnuts, or Brazil nuts)
  • 1 cup chopped dried figs or prunes
  • 1/2 cup raw cacao powder
  • 1/4 cup agave syrup or brown rice syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon flaky sea salt, plus more for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a food processor, pulse the assorted nuts until they reach a chunky consistency.
  3. Add the chopped figs or prunes, raw cacao powder, agave syrup, flaky sea salt, and almond extract to the processor and blend until sticky.
  4. Spoon the nut mixture into the lined baking pan and press it down firmly to form a solid base.
  5. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are slightly golden.
  6. Allow the base to cool completely in the pan.
  7. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chunks in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or in the microwave, stirring until smooth.
  8. Pour the melted chocolate over the cooled nut base and spread it evenly.
  9. Sprinkle a few flakes of sea salt on top.
  10. Chill the pan in the refrigerator for at least an hour to set the chocolate.
  11. Lift the bars out using the parchment overhang and slice into squares or rectangles for serving.

Notes

  • Ensure not to over-process the nuts to maintain a chunky texture.
  • Feel free to customize the nuts based on your preference.
  • Store the bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
