Description

A delightful dessert combining the rich flavors of chocolate and caramel in a delicate French macaron.


Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 4 large egg whites
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ cup caramel sauce
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a bowl, sift together the powdered sugar, almond flour, and cocoa powder.
  3. In another bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy, then gradually add in the granulated sugar and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.
  4. Fold the dry ingredients into the meringue until well combined.
  5. Pipe small circles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Let the macarons sit for 30 minutes before baking.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, then let cool.
  8. For the filling, combine caramel sauce, butter, and vanilla extract in a bowl.
  9. Sandwich the caramel filling between two macaron shells to assemble.
