- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 lb Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, salt, and sugar.
- Add melted butter, warm water, and yeast; mix to form a dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes.
- Let the dough rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Roll out the dough to fit a deep-dish pizza pan.
- Press the dough into the pan and add mozzarella cheese as the base layer.
- Spread ricotta cheese over the mozzarella.
- Pour marinara sauce over the ricotta, followed by Italian sausage, bell peppers, mushrooms, and season with Italian seasoning.
- Top with grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a spicier pizza, consider adding red pepper flakes.
- You can use store-bought dough for convenience.
