Description

Double Chocolate Swirl Banana Bread Loaf is a deliciously moist and rich dessert that combines the flavors of ripe bananas and chocolate.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup milk chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
  3. Add the beaten egg and vanilla extract to the banana mixture and stir until incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, flour, and cocoa powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fold in the semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips, reserving a few for topping.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle some reserved chocolate chips on top, then add the remaining batter. Swirl a knife through the batter to create a marbled effect.
  7. Top with any remaining chocolate chips.
  8. Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the loaf cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a nuttier flavor, add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans to the batter.
  • To make it extra indulgent, drizzle melted chocolate over the top after the bread has cooled.
