Description
Double Chocolate Swirl Banana Bread Loaf is a deliciously moist and rich dessert that combines the flavors of ripe bananas and chocolate.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
- Add the beaten egg and vanilla extract to the banana mixture and stir until incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, flour, and cocoa powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips, reserving a few for topping.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle some reserved chocolate chips on top, then add the remaining batter. Swirl a knife through the batter to create a marbled effect.
- Top with any remaining chocolate chips.
- Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the loaf cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a nuttier flavor, add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans to the batter.
- To make it extra indulgent, drizzle melted chocolate over the top after the bread has cooled.
