Description

Eggs Cocotte are a delicious and elegant breakfast or brunch dish that features eggs baked in ramekins with cream and seasonings.


Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons grated cheese (such as Gruyère or Parmesan)
  • Fresh herbs for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease ramekins with butter.
  3. In each ramekin, add a tablespoon of cream, followed by an egg, then the remaining cream.
  4. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and cheese.
  5. Place the ramekins in a baking dish and fill the dish with hot water halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the eggs are set but the yolks are still soft.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
