Description

Eve’s Pudding is a classic British dessert that is simple to make and delicious to eat.


Ingredients

  • 4 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 3 ounces sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 ounces self-raising flour
  • 4 ounces butter, softened
  • 4 ounces sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 ounces milk


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place the sliced apples in a buttered baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle apples with 3 ounces of sugar and cinnamon.
  4. In a bowl, cream together the butter and 4 ounces of sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  6. Gradually add the flour and milk to the mix and stir until combined.
  7. Pour the mixture over the apples in the baking dish.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm, optionally with custard or cream.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use golden syrup in place of some of the sugar.
  • This pudding can be made with other fruits like pears or plums.
