Ingredients

- 4 cups fresh cherries, pitted
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the fresh cherries, sugar, cornstarch, almond extract, and lemon juice. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, milk, and melted butter until combined. Pour the batter over the cherry mixture.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve with vanilla ice cream for a delicious dessert.
- Cherries can be substituted with other berries if desired.
