- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a 9×9-inch baking dish by lining it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the softened butter with both sugars and beat until light and airy (about 2-3 minutes).
- Stir in the vanilla extract and salt until well blended.
- Gradually incorporate the flour into the mixture, being careful not to overwork the dough.
- Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk until evenly mixed.
- Transfer the cookie dough into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center feels firm.
- Let the bars cool in the pan for about half an hour.
- Lift them out using the parchment paper and allow to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing into squares.
Notes
- For variation, mix in 1/2 cup of chopped nuts.
- Swap mini chocolate chips for white chocolate or butterscotch chips.
- A drizzle of melted chocolate over the cooled bars adds extra decadence.
