Description

Ingredients

  • 1 medium red cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 cup water


Instructions

  1. Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage and slice it thinly.
  2. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Add the sliced cabbage and apples, stirring to combine.
  4. Stir in the apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, black pepper, and allspice.
  5. Add water, cover the pot, and simmer for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally until the cabbage is tender.
  6. Adjust seasoning as needed and serve warm.
