Description

A deliciously sweet and fluffy giant jam bun that’s perfect for sharing!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 grams strong white flour
  • 75 grams caster sugar
  • 10 grams salt
  • 7 grams fast action yeast
  • 300 ml milk
  • 125 grams unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 200 grams jam of choice
  • 50 grams icing sugar, for dusting


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the milk, melted butter, and egg.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  6. Once risen, roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the jam evenly.
  7. Roll the dough into a log and place it in a greased baking tray.
  8. Let it rise for another 30 minutes, then preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Cool slightly and dust with icing sugar before serving.
