- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup scallions, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons freshly grated ginger
- 2 tablespoons tamari or soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)
- Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet with a layer of parchment paper.
- In a spacious bowl, mix together the ground chicken, panko breadcrumbs, chopped scallions, grated ginger, tamari or soy sauce, sesame oil, maple syrup, minced garlic, sea salt, and black pepper until everything is evenly blended.
- Take small portions of the mixture and roll them into bite-sized balls, placing them neatly on the lined baking sheet.
- Bake in the oven for approximately 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are fully cooked and have a lovely golden hue.
- Once done, take them out and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and fresh cilantro, if desired.
- Enjoy them warm!
Notes
- For an added kick, consider mixing in a teaspoon of chili paste or crushed red pepper flakes into the meatball mixture.
- These bites can be served over a bed of steamed rice or quinoa for a hearty meal, or wrapped in lettuce leaves for a lighter, refreshing option.
