  • 1 (12-count) package Hawaiian sweet rolls, cut into quarters
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Powdered sugar, maple syrup, or fresh fruit for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Place the quartered Hawaiian rolls evenly in the dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  3. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the rolls. Gently press down to help the bread absorb the liquid. Drizzle the melted butter over the top.
  4. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, or until golden and set in the center. The top should be slightly crisp.
  5. Let cool for a few minutes. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup or fruit if desired.
