Description

Delicious and nutritious homemade fig rolls that are a healthier alternative to store-bought options.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried figs, chopped
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup almond or peanut butter
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix chopped figs, oats, flour, sweetener, applesauce, nut butter, cinnamon, and salt until combined.
  3. Roll out dough on a floured surface and cut into rectangles.
  4. Place a spoonful of filling in the center, fold, and seal edges.
  5. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Let cool before serving.
