Description

A delicious pastry filled with flavorful leeks and fresh herbs.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 leeks, cleaned and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the leeks until soft.
  3. Stir in the thyme and rosemary, and season with salt and pepper.
  4. In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese with the egg, and add the leek mixture.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into circles.
  6. Place the mixture on top of each circle and fold the edges over.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • Serve warm or at room temperature.
  • These tarts can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
