Description

A festive and delicious lasagna perfect for the holiday season, layered with rich cheeses, savory meat, and marinara sauce.


Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 3 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, brown ground beef and Italian sausage until fully cooked; drain excess fat.
  4. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  5. Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Layer four lasagna noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, half of the meat mixture, and one third of the mozzarella cheese; repeat layers, ending with noodles and remaining marinara sauce.
  7. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
  9. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
