- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 3 cups ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, brown ground beef and Italian sausage until fully cooked; drain excess fat.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Layer four lasagna noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, half of the meat mixture, and one third of the mozzarella cheese; repeat layers, ending with noodles and remaining marinara sauce.
- Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- This recipe can be prepared ahead of time and baked when ready to serve.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
