Description

Delicious and traditional Honduran flour tortillas served with tasty beans and cream, perfect for any meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup sour cream


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add the vegetable oil and warm water, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each into a ball.
  5. Flatten each ball into a tortilla shape.
  6. Cook the tortillas on a hot skillet for 1-2 minutes on each side until lightly browned.
  7. In a separate pot, heat the black beans until warm.
  8. Serve the tortillas with black beans and a dollop of sour cream on top.

Notes

  • For a bit of flavor, add spices to the beans such as cumin or garlic.
