- 1 package phyllo dough
- 2 cups finely chopped almonds
- 1 cup melted butter
- 1 cup honey
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix the chopped almonds, sugar, and cinnamon.
- Lay out one sheet of phyllo dough, brush with melted butter, and layer another sheet on top.
- Spread a portion of the almond mixture along the edge and roll tightly.
- Place the rolls on a baking sheet and brush with more butter.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- While baking, combine honey, water, and vanilla in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Once rolls are done, pour the syrup over the warm baklava rolls.
Notes
- Let the rolls absorb the syrup for at least 1 hour before serving.
- For extra flavor, consider adding nutmeg to the almond filling.
