Description

Delicious Hungarian Fried Dough, a traditional treat that’s crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • powdered sugar for dusting


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water and yeast, let it activate.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour, salt, and sugar.
  3. Add activated yeast mixture and vegetable oil to the flour mixture.
  4. Knead the dough until smooth and let it rise for about 1 hour.
  5. Roll out the dough and cut into desired shapes.
  6. Heat oil in a pan and fry the dough until golden brown.
  7. Remove from oil and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • For a sweeter version, add more sugar to the dough.
  • Serve warm for the best taste.
