Japanese Yuzu Honey Glazed Chicken is a must-try dish that combines the unique flavors of yuzu with honey for a deliciously glazed chicken.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 1/4 cup yuzu juice (or substitute with a mix of lemon and lime juice)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together yuzu juice, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and sesame oil until well combined.
  2. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
  3. Preheat your grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade, reserving the marinade for later use.
  5. Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  6. While the chicken is grilling, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil over medium heat and simmer for about 5 minutes to thicken slightly.
  7. Brush the thickened marinade over the chicken during the last few minutes of grilling.
  8. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes. Slice and serve garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of chili flakes to the marinade.
  • Serve the chicken over steamed rice or with a side of grilled vegetables for a complete meal.
