Description

A delightful dessert combining the crispy texture of kataifi with creamy ice cream, topped with aromatic mastiha syrup.


Ingredients

  • 200 grams kataifi pastry
  • 1 liter ice cream (vanilla or mastiha flavor)
  • 100 grams sugar
  • 50 ml water
  • 20 grams mastiha (mastic resin)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Spread the kataifi pastry on a baking sheet and bake until golden and crispy, about 20 minutes.
  3. In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and mastiha. Heat gently until the sugar dissolves and mastiha is infused.
  4. Allow the syrup to cool.
  5. Once baked, let the kataifi cool and then fluff it up.
  6. Layer the kataifi in serving bowls and add scoops of ice cream on top.
  7. Drizzle with mastiha syrup and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Ensure the kataifi is fully cooled before adding the ice cream.
  • For a stronger mastiha flavor, increase the amount of mastiha in the syrup.
