Ingredients

- 1 cup grey peas
- 4 slices bacon
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Soak grey peas overnight in water.
- Drain and rinse the peas, then boil them in fresh water until tender.
- In a skillet, cook the bacon until crispy, then remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add butter and sauté the chopped onion until translucent.
- Add the cooked peas to the skillet, season with salt and black pepper, and stir well.
- Serve the peas topped with crispy bacon.

- For extra flavor, you can add herbs like thyme or bay leaves while boiling the peas.
