Description

A refreshing and creamy hummus with a unique twist of lemon and basil.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2-3 tablespoons water (as needed)


Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, basil, salt, and pepper.
  2. Process until smooth, adding water as needed to reach desired consistency.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  4. Spoon into a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Serve with pita chips or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add more lemon juice or fresh basil.
  • This hummus can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
