Description

Delicious and beautifully shaped cookies inspired by the lotus flower.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg, vanilla, and almond extracts and beat until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  6. Shape the dough into lotus flower shapes and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  8. Allow to cool before serving.
