Description

A delightful and creamy Matcha White Chocolate Mousse that combines the rich flavors of white chocolate and matcha green tea.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 4 ounces white chocolate, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons matcha green tea powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large egg whites
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat 1/2 cup of the heavy whipping cream over low heat until just warm. Remove from heat and add the chopped white chocolate. Stir until melted and smooth. Add the matcha powder and mix until fully incorporated. Set aside to cool slightly.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the remaining 1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream, sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until soft peaks form.
  3. In another bowl, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the melted white chocolate mixture into the whipped cream until combined.
  5. Carefully fold in the beaten egg whites until no white streaks remain.
  6. Spoon the mousse into individual serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.
  7. Serve chilled, optionally garnished with a sprinkle of matcha powder or white chocolate shavings.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use high-quality white chocolate with a higher cocoa butter content.
  • You can substitute the white chocolate with dark chocolate for a different flavor profile, adjusting the matcha powder to taste.
