Description

Delicious Moroccan-inspired meatballs simmered in a spiced tomato sauce.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, parsley, cinnamon, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and egg.
  2. Form the mixture into meatballs.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides.
  4. Remove meatballs and set aside. In the same skillet, sauté onion and garlic until soft.
  5. Add the tomato sauce and bring to a simmer.
  6. Return meatballs to the skillet and cook for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  7. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Serve with couscous or bread.
  • Can substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
