Description

This One-Bowl Jam Doughnut Cake is a delightful dessert that combines the flavors of a classic jam doughnut in a simple cake format.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup fruit jam (your choice)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk, and mix until just combined.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Spread the jam over the batter, then top with the remaining batter.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool before serving.
