- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup fruit jam (your choice)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk, and mix until just combined.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Spread the jam over the batter, then top with the remaining batter.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- This cake is best served warm with a dusting of powdered sugar on top.
- You can use any type of fruit jam you prefer for filling.
