Ingredients

- 2 cups basmati rice
- 500 grams mixed meat (beef or chicken)
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 onions, sliced
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 4 cups water
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Wash the basmati rice and soak in water for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a large pot and sauté onions until golden brown.
- Add garlic, ginger, and green chilies, cooking until fragrant.
- Stir in the tomatoes and cook until soft.
- Add mixed meat, followed by cumin seeds, coriander powder, turmeric, and salt. Cook until the meat is browned.
- Mix in the yogurt and cook until well combined.
- Add soaked rice and water, bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and let it cook for 20-25 minutes or until rice is tender.
- Sprinkle garam masala before serving.
