Description

This delicious Palestinian Sumac Chicken is served on warm flatbread, offering a delightful combination of flavors and textures.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 2 tablespoons sumac
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 flatbreads
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix sumac, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper with olive oil to create a marinade.
  2. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, making sure they are well coated. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the grill or skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
  4. Remove the chicken from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  5. Warm the flatbreads on the grill or in a pan.
  6. Assemble by placing sliced chicken on the flatbread, then topping with sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and a drizzle of yogurt and lemon juice.
  7. Serve warm.
