Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 cup water chestnuts, chopped
- 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
- 1 head butter lettuce or iceberg lettuce, leaves separated
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground chicken. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and chopped water chestnuts. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until everything is well combined and heated through.
- Remove from heat and stir in the sliced green onions.
- To serve, spoon the chicken mixture into the lettuce leaves and garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- For added crunch, include shredded carrots or diced bell peppers in the chicken mixture.
- Substitute ground turkey or tofu for a different protein option.
