Description

A delicious and easy recipe for Pretzel Chicken with a creamy Mustard-Cheddar Sauce.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp honey
  • Salt and pepper, to taste


Instructions

  1. Place crushed pretzels in a shallow dish. In two other dishes, place flour in one and beaten eggs in the other. Season chicken with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Dredge chicken in flour, dip in eggs, then coat with crushed pretzels.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken 4–5 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. For the sauce, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth and thickened.
  5. Remove from heat, stir in cheddar cheese, Dijon mustard, honey, salt, and pepper until creamy.
  6. Serve crispy pretzel chicken drizzled with the warm mustard-cheddar sauce.
