Description

A rich and flavorful brisket dish simmered in red wine and gelatin for an elevated taste experience.


Ingredients

  • 4 pounds brisket
  • 2 cups red wine
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon gelatin
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Season brisket with salt and pepper.
  3. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sear the brisket on both sides until browned.
  4. Add onions, carrots, celery, and garlic to the pot, cooking until softened.
  5. Pour in red wine and beef broth, simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle gelatin over the mixture and stir until dissolved.
  7. Cover the pot and transfer to the oven. Cook for 3-4 hours, or until brisket is tender.
  8. Remove brisket from the pot, let rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
  9. Serve with sauce from the pot.
