- 2 cups rye flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 4 apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a pan, melt the butter and add brown sugar, stirring until dissolved.
- Arrange apple slices in the pan and sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Cook for about 10 minutes until apples start to soften.
- In a bowl, combine rye flour with water to make a dough.
- Roll out the dough and place it over the apples.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before inverting onto a plate.
Notes
- This dessert is best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
- Adjust the sweetness by modifying the amount of brown sugar.
