Description

Deliciously soft and gooey Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars filled with layers of chocolate and caramel.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • ½ tsp flaky sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until combined. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips.
  5. Spread half of the dough into the prepared pan. Drizzle caramel sauce over the dough, then gently spread the remaining dough on top. Sprinkle with remaining chocolate chips.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and let cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • These bars are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for a few days.
  • For an extra touch, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
