Description

A crunchy and sweet treat made with saltine crackers, butter, and chocolate.


Ingredients

  • 40 saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and arrange saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat until it starts to boil. Boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
  4. Pour the mixture over the saltine crackers evenly.
  5. Bake for 5-6 minutes until bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  7. Allow the chocolate to melt for a few minutes, then spread it evenly.
  8. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if desired.
  9. Refrigerate until set, then break into pieces.
