Description

A deliciously smoky and sweet beef brisket served with a fresh apple relish.


Ingredients

  • 4 pounds beef brisket
  • 1/4 cup smoked paprika
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 2 medium apples, diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil


Instructions

  1. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together smoked paprika, maple syrup, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and kosher salt.
  3. Rub the spice mixture all over the beef brisket.
  4. Place the brisket in the smoker and smoke for about 6-8 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).
  5. While the brisket is smoking, prepare the apple relish by combining diced apples, red onion, apple cider vinegar, and olive oil in a bowl.
  6. Let the relish sit to blend the flavors.
  7. Once the brisket is done, remove it from the smoker and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
  8. Serve the sliced brisket topped with apple relish.
