Description
A deliciously smoky and sweet beef brisket served with a fresh apple relish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 pounds beef brisket
- 1/4 cup smoked paprika
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- 2 cups apple cider
- 2 medium apples, diced
- 1/4 cup red onion, diced
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
- In a small bowl, mix together smoked paprika, maple syrup, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and kosher salt.
- Rub the spice mixture all over the beef brisket.
- Place the brisket in the smoker and smoke for about 6-8 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).
- While the brisket is smoking, prepare the apple relish by combining diced apples, red onion, apple cider vinegar, and olive oil in a bowl.
- Let the relish sit to blend the flavors.
- Once the brisket is done, remove it from the smoker and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
- Serve the sliced brisket topped with apple relish.
Notes
- Allowing the brisket to rest ensures it stays juicy.
- For more flavor, try brining the brisket overnight before smoking.
