Description

A flavorful recipe for Spicy Mongolian Garlic Noodles that combines garlic, ginger, and a variety of sauces for a delicious dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces spaghetti or lo mein noodles
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili paste (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped (optional)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet, sautéing for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, chili paste, and brown sugar.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet and stir well to combine with the garlic and ginger.
  6. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet, tossing to coat them evenly with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the noodles to absorb the flavors.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped green onions and cilantro, if using.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, increase the amount of chili paste or add sliced fresh chili peppers.
  • You can also add cooked protein like chicken, shrimp, or tofu to make it a complete meal.
