A flavorful recipe for Spicy Mongolian Garlic Noodles that combines garlic, ginger, and a variety of sauces for a delicious dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces spaghetti or lo mein noodles
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon chili paste (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped (optional)
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet, sautéing for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, chili paste, and brown sugar.
- Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet and stir well to combine with the garlic and ginger.
- Add the cooked noodles to the skillet, tossing to coat them evenly with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the noodles to absorb the flavors.
- Remove from heat and stir in the chopped green onions and cilantro, if using.
- Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, increase the amount of chili paste or add sliced fresh chili peppers.
- You can also add cooked protein like chicken, shrimp, or tofu to make it a complete meal.
