A fun and spooky meatloaf recipe perfect for Halloween that will impress your guests!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 cup ketchup (divided)
- 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 2 black olives (for eyes)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, oregano, and thyme. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
- Spread 3/4 cup of ketchup over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
- While the meatloaf is baking, unroll the crescent roll dough and cut it into thin strips.
- After 45 minutes, remove the meatloaf from the oven and carefully wrap the dough strips around the meatloaf to resemble mummy bandages, leaving gaps for the eyes.
- Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- Use the remaining ketchup to create a spooky face on the meatloaf, and place the black olives as eyes.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add 1 teaspoon of chili powder to the meat mixture.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
