Description

A fun and spooky meatloaf recipe perfect for Halloween that will impress your guests!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup ketchup (divided)
  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 black olives (for eyes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, oregano, and thyme. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
  4. Spread 3/4 cup of ketchup over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  6. While the meatloaf is baking, unroll the crescent roll dough and cut it into thin strips.
  7. After 45 minutes, remove the meatloaf from the oven and carefully wrap the dough strips around the meatloaf to resemble mummy bandages, leaving gaps for the eyes.
  8. Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  10. Use the remaining ketchup to create a spooky face on the meatloaf, and place the black olives as eyes.
  11. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add 1 teaspoon of chili powder to the meat mixture.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
