Description

A refreshing Strawberry Basil Sorbet with a delightful honey drizzle that tantalizes your taste buds.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup honey


Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
  2. In a blender or food processor, combine the strawberries, basil leaves, lemon juice, and the cooled sugar syrup. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl to remove any seeds and basil bits. Discard the solids.
  4. Cover the bowl and place it in the freezer for about 2 hours, or until the mixture is partially frozen.
  5. Remove the bowl from the freezer and stir the mixture with a fork to break up any ice crystals. Return to the freezer for another 2 hours.
  6. Once the sorbet is fully frozen, scoop it into serving bowls.
  7. Drizzle honey over each serving and garnish with additional basil leaves if desired.

Notes

  • For a creamier texture, add 1/4 cup of coconut milk to the strawberry mixture before blending.
